Well, folks, that is a wrap on Ohio State's season opener against the Texas Longhorns, and it was a hard-fought 14-7 win over the Longhorns, one that fans will never forget. The Ohio State defense truly deserves the most praise after holding the Longhorns to just seven points and shutting down Heisman favorite Arch Manning all game long.
The Longhorns did make it close in the end, driving with just under two minutes left in the game, but again, the defense came up with a huge fourth-down stop to steal the win for the Buckeyes.
Ohio State fans everywhere can now rejoice with the win, and also show all the haters that they never should have doubted the Buckeyes, and that is exactly what they are doing on social media.

Both loses are against Ohio State 😂 pic.twitter.com/aTkKkRuILD
People can't argue the facts, and the facts are that Texas has lost its last two games, and it just so happens that both of those games were against Ohio State. The Longhorns just can't seem to figure out how to beat the Buckeyes.
A message to every AP Voter that didn’t have Ohio State at #1 pic.twitter.com/v4lEcUZJpo

Ohio State is the defending National Champions, and not to have them ranked No. 1 coming into the season when they so clearly are still the best team in the country seems like an insult. Then on top of that, to rank Penn State ahead of the Buckeyes as well just really made Ohio State mad. Bet there will be a lot of people voting Ohio State No. 1 in the AP voting.
Ohio State won after Lee Corso picked them to win in his last show. pic.twitter.com/Z7lN3MtbVT

It had to have a fairytale ending. Lee Corso gave Ohio State the gift of selecting the Buckeyes with his final headgear pick ever, so Ohio State returned the favor by making him correct. The Buckeyes couldn't make Coach Corso wrong with his last ever pick, so Ohio State knew the job that had to get done.

Paul Finebaum may not want to show his face in Columbus anytime soon, especially with how emphatically he declared that Texas would absolutely beat Ohio State in this game.
Nobody picked the National Champs.

The whole world loved Texas.
And Ohio State laughed.
Ohio State is still laughing, and will be for awhile.
