It's been made more than clear that Ohio State athletic director Ross Bjork isn't afraid to mix things up at The Shoe for game days. Luckily, it looks like Bjork is willing to admit when he's wrong too, which was made clear when he decided to mix things up with the song "Ohio" by Caamp being played in Columbus during the action. Another remix is needed when it comes to "Hang on Sloopy".
As most of you recall, Bjork made countless headlines last year when he decided to stop having the band play it heading into the fourth quarter. It was a mistake then, and it's still a mistake now. So, if Bjork is willing to admit the Caamp move was the wrong call, it's time for him to swallow his pride and realize his Hang on Sloopy decision was also a complete and total mess. Bring it back the way it used to be, Ross!
Listening to 97.1 and Ross Bjork admitted he missed on the “Ohio” song by Caamp. They are still going to play it, but not try and hype it up like they tried to last year.

Ohio State still has a 'Hang on Sloopy' issue only Ross Bjork can fix
It's important to note that the song is still featured at The Shoe, with Bjork saying from the start that it would be played when the team and players needed it most. At the time, it felt like Bjork was trying to meet in the middle with the fanbase, but the damage was done.
Why on earth would he decide to end a tradition that had been around for decades? It may not seem like a big deal on the outside looking in, but it was part of what makes games so special - even those little traditions that fans were so used to are a reminder of why going to watch Ohio State in person is so much dang fun.
Bjork must have thought making this switch wouldn't have led to the outrage that it did, but he really dropped the ball there. Things got so bad that even FOX decided to troll Bjork over his decision during the season-opener last year. With the end of the third quarter arriving in the showdown against Texas, which the Buckeyes came out on top of, we might add, the FOX broadcast played it in style, which left countless people both laughing and livid.
It was a reminder that Bjork wanted to step in and make a change to improve the gameday experience, but again, his decision could not have gone worse. If there's anything to take away from this, though, it's that it's never too late to right a wrong, and in Bjork's case, the decision here could not be more simple for him.
Swallow your pride, man. Put your ego aside and realize that at the end of the day, one of the top priorities for an athletic director is to listen to the feedback from students, alums, and a program's supporters as a whole. "Hang on Sloopy" deserves to be played going into the fourth quarter, end of story. Bjork can fix this problem if he just comes to his senses. Will he? We can only hope so.
