The Ohio State football program has a couple of five-star recruits in the 2027 recruiting class so far. They have DJ Jacobs, who is the best edge recruit in the country. He is someone who actually might be helping the Buckeyes recruit other players to Columbus now that he has pledged his commitment.
The other is Jamier Brown, a five-star receiver. Brown is from the state of Ohio, hailing from Sunbury. He is someone whom Ohio State has had committed for a while, as he committed back in November of 2024 when Brian Hartline was recruiting him. Cortez Hankton has held onto him, for now.
Brown might be the most locked-in prospect that Ohio State has, though. In fact, he recently revealed that a couple of other schools around the country have tried to get him to flip. Not only that, but these schools have actually offered him something crazy in order to change his commitment.
Ohio State recruit Jamier Brown claims schools have offered him women to flip his commitment
In a recent interview, Brown claims that a couple of other schools have offered him women in exchange for his commitment.

Brown did not name the schools that tried to use this tactic to entice him, although he should have. That's an incredibly unethical way to land a recruit. Not only is that degrading to the women who are being offered up, but it's degrading to Brown to think that he would be swayed by such a tactic.
Obviously, Brown turned down those offers. He has stayed loyal to the Ohio State Buckeyes for a year and a half at this point. It doesn't look like any school has a chance to flip him. He's an Ohio kid, and he knows how well the Buckeyes do developing receivers, even without Hartline on staff.
Ohio State recruit Jamier Brown will make an impact as a freshman next season
While Brown won't take the field for Ohio State until next season, there is no doubt that he will make an immediate impact. With Jeremiah Smith, Brandon Inniss, and Devin McCuin gone after this season, Ohio State is going to need some help at the receiver spot.
Next season, Ohio State is also likely to have a new quarterback. If Julian Sayin has another great year in 2026, he will declare for the NFL Draft a year early. That will likely mean that Tavien St. Clair becomes the starter. Having a new starting quarterback and several new receivers is a scary prospect.
Brown has shown over the course of his high school career that he can come in and make an immediate impact. Even as a freshman, Brown is likely going to see the field quite a bit. He has the speed and the hands to get a ton of yards after the catch.
It's good that Brown seems to have his focus on football and nothing more. While NIL money is a massive way to get prospects to flip, Brown has his eyes trained on the Buckeyes.
