The Ohio State football program continues to try to get its recruiting class in order for the 2026 class, and they had quite a few recruits in for a visit this past weekend. It was a good weekend that showed that the Buckeyes still have some juice with some really talented players.
Coming into the weekend, the Buckeyes had the fifth-best recruiting class in the country. They keep sliding down the rankings as the weeks go by because they still have just 16 commitments so far. That doesn't mean that they aren't about to land more, and this weekend will help them do that.
The Ohio State football team hosts several big-time recruits for visits
Four-star cornerback Jordan Thomas is already committed to the Ohio State Buckeyes, but he visited over the weekend. Thomas committed last month and was playing the role of a recruit trying to talk some other prospects into committing to the Buckeyes.
Another four-star recruit was in Columbus this weekend. Landon Barnes, a four-star edge recruit, was also enjoying his visit with the Buckeyes. He is someone who can help the defensive line, although they already have a couple of edge commits in this class already.
Five-star safety Bralan Womack was the highest-rated recruit who was there over the weekend. Womack is the top-rated safety in the country. If Ohio State is able to land him, they would have the top two safety recruits in the 2026 class committed to their program.
The Buckeyes are still trying to figure out how to recruit in the NIL era. While they have navigated the space well so far, that doesn't mean they are going to land every single recruit they want. Budgeting the NIL money is going to be an important aspect of recruiting moving forward.
Ryan Day wants to land more commitments at the end of June and into July. That's what they are aiming for.
