The Ohio State football team was able to finally break the four-game losing streak to TTUN a couple of weeks ago. It was a dominant 27-9 victory in which they physically dominated Michigan. It was the most satisfying win that the Buckeyes have had all season long.
Winning that game made it clear that Ryan Day is the best coach in the Big Ten without any question. It also sent Michigan fans wanting Sherrone Moore to be fired. TTUN could not manage a touchdown against the Buckeyes, and Ohio State never panicked after a rough start early.
As the Ohio State Buckeyes are preparing for games in the College Football Playoff, it looks like some of those Michigan fans have gotten their wish. According to Pete Thamel, Dan Wetzel, and Adam Schefter of ESPN, Sherrone Moore has been fired with cause from Michigan.
Sherrone Moore gets fired weeks after loss to Ohio State football program
Because the firing is for cause, Michigan will not have to pay a buyout. TTUN claims that Moore had an inappropriate relationship with a university staff member, and they claim to have a zero-tolerance policy for that. Biff Poggi has been named the interim head coach.
Michigan: "U-M head football coach Sherrone Moore has been terminated, with cause, effective immediately. Following a University investigation, credible evidence was found that Coach Moore engaged in an inappropriate relationship with a staff member." https://t.co/WAyiqdhDri

Moore will leave TTUN with a big loss in his final game as the head coach. It's unclear when or if he will be able to get a new job, as the hiring cycle is pretty much over. That also creates an issue for Michigan, as most of the premier candidates have already taken new jobs or signed massive extensions.
Ohio State football fans can revel in the joy that a loss to them helped precipitate this move. It seems that without the team being able to cheat, they have no way of beating the Buckeyes in the future. Day is a new coach since that loss last season, so another era of Buckeye dominance looks to be on the horizon.
