It took until the very last second, but the Ohio State football team was able to beat Notre Dame. Chip Trayanum’s touchdown with one second left on third down helped the Buckeyes secure the win in the most dramatic fashion possible. It was a truly great moment in Ohio State football history.

Ryan Day was filled with emotion right after the game and it was great to see. He was so fired up after the win that he let it known that the disrespect felt by him and the rest of the team was not appreciated. He directed his ire towards one particular former Notre Dame coach.

Day clearly heard what former Notre Dame coach Lou Holtz said on the Pat McAfee show. Holtz said that the Irish were going to win because they were the more physical team and that they were tougher than the Buckeyes. Day made it clear that statement motivated him and the rest of the team.

Speaking about what Holtz said, Day said the following;

"I’d like to know where Lou Holtz is right now. What he said about our team, I cannot believe. This is a tough team. We’re proud to be from Ohio. It’s always been Ohio against the world, and it will continue to be Ohio against the world! I’ll tell you what, I love those kids and we have a tough team!"

Day was clearly fired up with Holtz insinuating that the Buckeyes did not have a tough team heading into South Bend. The Buckeyes proved him and the rest of the country wrong by going into a hostile environment and winning the game.

The defense was spectacular for Ohio State, only allowing 14 points. They are the real deal. Day knows he has a tough team. It was great to see him display some emotion in a hard-fought victory. He certainly deserved to show all of that emotion.
