The Detroit Lions' Twitter account was feeling some Michigan pride on Sunday, tweeting out the scores to several recent games between teams from "The Great Lake State" and "The Buckeye State" after a 37-24 win over the Cincinnati Bengals.
Among the scores listed were TTUN's shocking Week 14 win over the Ohio State Buckeyes at the "Shoe" last November, the Lions' Week 4 win over the Cleveland Browns, and the Detroit Tigers' recent AL Wild Card Round Game 3 win over the Cleveland Guardians.
Petty. But a well-earned victory lap for Michiganders everywhere.

Ryan Day motivated to not let Michigan keep getting over on Ohio State
Since the Guardians are eliminated from the MLB postseason and the Lions are in the NFC, and thus won't have any more matchups with either the AFC North's Browns or Bengals, barring a miraculous Super Bowl run for Cleveland or Cincinnati, Ohio State football coach Ryan Day is the only man who dishes some payback on behalf of "The Buckeye State."
Day, who hasn't beaten TTUN since 2019 and has lost four straight matchups to the Wolverines, sounded dead set on making sure the 2,100-plus-day drought of winning "The Game" ends next month while speaking after last year's loss.
"We felt what it's like to not win this game, and it's bad. It's one of the worst things that's happened to me in my life, quite honestly. Other than losing my father and a few other things, like it's quite honestly, for my family, the worst thing that's happened. So we can never have that happen again ever. And that's been the approach all season," Day said, per Eleven Warriors.
“We know what this game means. And certainly I know what this game means. And there's a lot of people counting on this game. This is our identity. It's who we are. We don't have anything else. So it's a big responsibility. And the last couple of years, when it doesn't get done, it just eats at your core. And so it just motivates you every single day to come back, to get this done, to stand on the field and sing the Carmen Ohio after winning this game.
“It's not about me ... it's about these seniors who decided to come back. They're the ones that are on the field. They're the true warriors that go put it on the line every game. And they came back for a reason: It's to win this game. And they've made that very clear. And so, you know, while we're all involved in it and I appreciate what they said, this is about these players.”
The Buckeyes have the most realistic chance to rep O-H-I-O of the bunch and end the state's continued losing to the folks up north.
If Day can end the memes and finally silence all doubters who believe he can't win the big one, it'll be the state of Ohio's last laugh.
