This past weekend, the Ohio State football program had one of the biggest recruiting weekends of the year. Five recruits came in for the first official visit weekend of the summer. The Buckeyes brought in three five-star recruits to all visit together, as well as a recruit they have already earned a commitment from.

One of the five-star kids they are trying to sway is David Gabriel Georges. He is rated as the best running back in the country and is someone the Ohio State Buckeyes have been going after pretty hard. Carlos Locklyn clearly thinks that this prospect has a chance to be something special.

Ryan Day is trying everything he can to earn a commitment from the talented running back. After this weekend, the chances of that happening have massively increased. In fact, the latest update should make Ohio State football fans extremely happy about potentially landing him.

Ohio State football gets prediction to land David Gabriel Georges

According to Rivals, the Buckeyes now have two predictions to land the top-rated RB in the 2027 recruiting class. It's pretty clear that the visit has given Ohio State a great shot at signing him. If Gabriel Georges does sign, he would be the first five-star running back Ohio State has landed since TreVeyon Henderson.

Ohio State has a history of developing running backs over the course of history. Both Henderson and Quinshon Judkins were second-round picks a couple of years back. Now, Henderson is one of the best weapons that the Patriots have on the offensive side of the ball.

Gabriel Georges has several other official visits scheduled, so this isn't a shoo-in by any means. Ohio State will have to keep doing work on recruiting him over the next few weeks, even though they just brought him to campus. It also seems they are willing to meet his NIL demands, as well.

Ohio State didn't land any commitments off the first official visit weekend

Despite bringing in five recruits, Ohio State didn't get any commitments coming out of that weekend. Prince Goldsby has already pledged himself to signing with the team. They were hoping that he was going to be able to help coax out some commitments, but that didn't happen.

Despite not getting any verbal commitments, Ohio State is still projected to land two of these recruits. In addition to Gabriel Georges, they are also predicted to sign Marcus Fakatou, a five-star defensive lineman. Adding both of those players to the 2027 recruiting class would be fantastic.

For the month of June, prospects will be rolling in every weekend as official visit season is now underway. How well Ohio State can sell the program and how it can help these recruits reach their NFL dreams will be critical. The staff Day has assembled are pros at this.

Expect the Buckeyes to rack up several commitments this month. It would be surprising if their class still sat at 13 commits at the end of the month of June.
