The Ohio State football program is hoping to ride a wave of momentum into Early Signing Day. After beating Michigan on Saturday, they are looking to have a strong finish to the 2026 recruiting class. Right now, they have the sixth-best recruiting class in the country.
That would be the lowest-rated Ryan Day class since his first class as a head coach. After beating TTUN, they are still hoping to flip some recruits before Early Signing Day on Wednesday. Of course, other programs are trying to flip some guys pledged to the Buckeyes, as well.
Lane Kiffin is trying to be one of those head coaches to poach some talent from the Ohio State Buckeyes. Kiffin has decided to become the new head coach at LSU, leaving Ole Miss behind. One of his first acts was to offer an Ohio State recruit.
Lane Kiffin offers Ohio State recruit Jerquaden Guilford
Four-star wide receiver recruit Jerquaden Guilford has received an offer from Kiffin just a couple of days before he is expected to sign with the Buckeyes. Guilford is a 6'3, 190-pound receiver from Fort Wayne, Indiana. He has been committed to Ohio State since July.
Offering him just two days before Signing Day seems like a bit of a Hail Mary from Kiffin. It's highly unlikely that the Guilford will flip to LSU. If Brian Hartline decides to take a head coaching job, that could open the door for him to look elsewhere. If Hartline stays, Guilford is likely staying.
The Buckeyes accrue the best talent in the wide receiver room almost every single year. Hartline is the best recruiter in the country, and he almost never has a receiver recruit flip elsewhere. Right now, it doesn't seem like Ohio State is worried about Guilford flipping his commitment.
Kiffin can try to make some flashy offers and moves, but Ohio State recruits and players are going to stay loyal this close to Signing Day.
