The good news keeps coming in for Ohio State and Ryan Day out on the recruiting trail. As expected, four-star defensive lineman Karlos May shut down his recruitment and announced for the Buckeyes, giving Larry Johnson another big-time win for the defensive side of the ball. And soon enough, another major Ohio State target will be coming off the board, this time on offense.
That'd be five-star running back David Gabriel Georges, who is set to reveal his college decision on July 22. Ohio State is hoping to keep this fantastic recruiting momentum going, as May is jacked up to be a Buckeye. Right after he committed too, he didn't hold back on why he picked the Big Ten powerhouse over so many other offers, and it's something Georges should surely pay attention to:
"It's just a good fit for me," May told Rivals right after letting the world know he's Ohio State-bound. "I just like the development, I just like the people around me, and I just feel like this is going to be the best option for my future, and making it to the next level."

Karlos May commits to Ohio State, and fans hope 5-star RB David Gabriel Georges will be next for the Buckeyes
May didn't hide his feelings there, as this isn't the first time he's mentioned the development he'll be able to get at Ohio State as a big reason he's so interested in the program. May was also considering Florida State, Georgia, and Auburn, but plenty of signs pointed to the Buckeyes winning this recruiting battle in recent weeks.
It sure is a monster get too, as May is ranked the No. 11 DL in the country per the 247Sports rankings, and the No. 120 player nationally for the 2027 class. He also let the Ohio State faithful know that he'll be ready to make an immediate impact once he makes the move to campus.
"They're (Ohio State fans) getting someone who will be ready to come in and learn from the guy who's in front of him," May said. "I'll be ready to go and get developed, and hopefully make an impact as a freshman."
So, will Georges end up following May and the already loaded '27 haul to Ohio State next season? That's something that certainly remains on the table. The standout running back is down to Ohio State, Tennessee, and Ole Miss.
However, something tells us this really is a battle between the Vols and Buckeyes, as Josh Heupel has been working overtime here as well with his recruiting efforts. While Tennessee is feeling optimistic too, the Buckeyes continue to be the favorites to get even more good news in the near future. Should that happen, a parade might get thrown in Columbus, as Georges is the No. 2 running back in the country. Soon enough we'll find out where he plays his college ball, but Ohio State is a serious contender, and the good vibes might keep going following the May news too.
