The Ohio State football team was worried about Jeremiah Smith's health heading into the Michigan game. He only played the first half of the UCLA game and sat out against Rutgers. He clearly had a lower-body injury of some sort after he was seen limping during the UCLA game.
Smith ended up playing against TTUN and made a big impact on the game. He scored a touchdown and helped the Ohio State Buckeyes win that game 27-9. Smith also played in the Big Ten Championship game and made a big impact on that game as well, even though Ohio State didn't win.
Heading into the Cotton Bowl, Smith and the rest of the Buckeyes have had plenty of time to rest up and get ready for their opponent. Ohio State will take on Miami, Smith's hometown team. Ahead of that matchup, Smith let everyone know just how injured he was earlier in the year.
Ohio State receiver Jeremiah Smith reveals he was not healthy against Michigan
While talking to the media ahead of the Cotton Bowl, Smith revealed that he was actually much more hurt than he let on. Smith revealed he suffered a quad strain, and he should have been out 3-4 weeks. Yet, Smith said he tried everything he could in order to be out there for the Michigan game.
Smith also mentioned that he is fully healthy heading into this matchup with the Hurricanes. He is ready to go for the entirety of the College Football Playoff run. He is expecting to have a major impact in the Cotton Bowl against the Hurricanes, a team he wants to beat badly.
The Buckeyes are going to try to involve him in the offensive game plan as much as possible throughout their run. If they want to win back-to-back national championships, Smith has to have the ball as much as possible. It's good to know he's healthy.
