The Ohio State football program has been waiting to find out who its first opponent will be in the College Football Playoff. This season, the Ohio State Buckeyes were able to earn a first-round bye, a luxury they were not afforded a year ago. That didn't matter last season, as they were still able to win a national title.

This year, the Buckeyes have been given some extra time to prep for their first opponent. That might be good after Brian Hartline called such a poor game in the Big Ten Championship. Now, the Buckeyes know who they will be facing in the Cotton Bowl.

It will be the Miami Hurricanes. Jeremiah Smith is pleased to be facing them, as the Hurricanes are his hometown team. After Miami beat Texas A&M 10-3 in a horrible game, Smith gave a reaction on social media that let everyone know he is locked in on this game.

Smith gave a simple but effective message to Miami and their fans ahead of this matchup.

The Buckeyes will have had about three weeks by the time that these two teams end up playing. That means that Ryan Day should have a great game plan to take on the Hurricanes. Smith is going to be a large part of that game plan, as he is the best playmaker on either team.

Smith will be extra motivated to dominate his hometown team, especially with how many fans tweet at him to transfer after every season. Miami fans desperately want to have Smith play for the Hurricanes, but that is something that will never happen.

Expect Smith to have a huge game against the Hurricanes in Texas. Day and Hartline will have something put together that allows him to get the ball as much as possible.
