The Ohio State football program has done a great job of recruiting receivers over the last decade. Under Brian Hartline, no one was able to accumulate more talent. He brought in top-end guys year after year, and the Buckeyes have had first-round receivers for five straight seasons.

Jeremiah Smith will certainly be the sixth-straight first-round receiver next season. There's a great chance that he ends up being a top-three pick. He returns as the best receiver in college football again, and he has let people know he's more motivated than ever.

Smith has been extremely loyal to the Ohio State Buckeyes over the last three years. Despite other programs trying to flip him, he has stayed true to the Buckeyes. Now, he's trying to help Ohio State land another stud at the wide receiver position over Indiana and Alabama.

Jeremiah Smith helping Ohio State recruit 5-star receiver Monshun Sales

Monshun Sales just visited the Buckeyes over the weekend. He enjoyed his visit, and Ohio State was the favorite to land him for a while. He is really down to OSU and IU, as he is from Indianapolis. Smith is doing his part, trying to land him after using social media to recruit him.

Having Smith recruit other receivers certainly gives Ohio State a unique advantage. Chris Henry Jr. also commented on that photo, hoping to entice him, as well. No other school has the history of greatness at the receiver position that the Buckeyes do.

Adding Sales would help replenish what will be a bare room after this year. Ohio State will lose Smith, Brandon Inniss, and Devin McCuin. That leaves very few guys who have experience in college football games left on the roster. Bringing in Sales would really help them add more depth at a position that suddenly won't have much.

Ohio State is hoping to build recruiting momentum in June

The Buckeyes were finally able to get a commitment in the month of June. They now have 14 recruits in the 2027 recruiting class. That still means they have plenty of work to do, despite the fact that they have plenty of predictions to land multiple five-star prospects.

Ohio State has some official visits scheduled for the last couple of weekends in June to build that momentum. As for Sales, there is no indication of when he will make his final decision. He will visit Miami next weekend, which is another school he has on his final list.

It still seems that it is down to the Buckeyes and the Hoosiers for Sales. If Sales stays home to play for Indiana, that would be a big loss for the Buckeyes. It would also be one of the few times that the Buckeyes lose a recruiting battle for an elite receiver to another Big Ten school.

Ohio State still feels great about its chances to bring in Sales. The visit this past weekend was solid, and Sales seemed to enjoy himself. Now, Ohio State has to sew up his commitment.
