Even though Ohio State won the National Championship, they certainly are still getting hate about the 2025 season already.

Even though the Ohio State Buckeyes won the National Championship last season, it doesn't mean it completely quieted the haters out in the college football world. The Buckeyes are coming into this next season with something to prove again that they truly belong at the top of the college football mountaintop and can stay there as well, and there is one player leading the charge.

Sophomore wide receiver and the star of Ohio State, Jeremiah Smith, has heard all the talk from the haters. He is ready to put on a show for those who choose to continue to doubt the Buckeyes.

In an interview with a local TV station, Smith gave his take on how workouts went this season compared to last season. He said that the coaches put them through an even more intense training session, but this is a new team, and everyone has to learn their new role this season. However, Smith has been listening to what people are saying, and he has one response to those who choose to doubt the Buckeyes.

"We're gonna put on a show, a lot of people have been doubting us," Smith said. "I can't wait to prove a lot of people wrong this year."

Smith returns as one of the top players in college football this season after putting together one of the best seasons by a freshman in both Ohio State and college football history. In 2024, Smith reeled in 76 receptions for 1,315 yards and 15 touchdowns, averaging 17.3 yards per catch.

The Buckeyes certainly aren't the same team as last year, but they are claiming to be exactly that. Earlier in the offseason, the players asked that all the championship stuff be taken down from the facilities because last year's team earned all of that, and if they want it back up, this team has to earn it back.
