Ohio State Buckeyes offensive lineman Ian Moore, a man who could play both tackle and guard spots, could just need one year to become a top NFL draft prospect in the same vein as the 2026 NFL draft's No. 5 pick, former OSU EDGE Arvell Reese.

Cleveland.com's Stefan Krajisnik stressed that he isn't even sure Moore will start, but predicted that if he does, he'll be playing at an elite level. Per Krajisnik, "Ian Moore may not start for Ohio State in 2026, but if he does, it’s because he’s playing at a level worthy of moving All-Big Ten left tackle Austin Siereveld inside. That possibility alone suggests a 6-6, 312-pound offensive tackle who was once a four-star prospect may only need one quality season's worth of starts to move up big boards. Siereveld may be a better player for the Buckeyes in 2026, but he projects as a guard in the NFL. Tackle is a premium position, potentially making Moore a more lucrative prospect."

While Moore initially looked like the likely starting right tackle this season, knocking Joshua Padilla out of the spot, he may end up protecting Julian Sayin's blindside, with a possible switch to the interior for Austin Siereveld.

Ian Moore starting at LT gives him highest NFL draft ceiling

Stopping or slowing down the speedy edge rushers in the Big Ten, like TTUN's John Henry Daley, the Oregon Ducks' Matayo Uiagalelei and Teitum Tuioti, the USC Trojans' Kameryn Crawford, the Nebraska Cornhuskers' Williams Nwaneri, and the Northwestern Wildcats' Anto Saka, could create significant draft hype for Moore by April 2027.

Anything Moore does at left tackle will resonate more with NFL scouts and get him a higher payday at the next level. If he can play into a starting spot, especially left tackle, Moore will immediately become a name to know in NFL circles. It's the Ohio State difference.

Hopefully, Moore will either keep edge rushers on an island or open up gaps for a talented running back room on the interior. Either way, helping move this Buckeyes program forward will reap endless rewards if all goes according to plan for Moore.
