The Ohio State Buckeyes may soon see sophomore right tackle Ian Moore force Phillip Daniels either behind him on the depth chart or into the interior. Land-Grant Holy Land's Michael Citro claimed Daniels is "vulnerable" to lose his starting spot and that the loser of the RT battle wouldn't actually lose much.

Of course, with Gabe VanSickle and Joshua Padilla battling at the right guard spot, the only snaps available may be rotational ones.

"Starting right tackle Phillip Daniels returns for 2026, but after the way 2025 ended, he is vulnerable to losing the spot. Ian Moore mostly held his own in relief of an injured Austin Siereveld in the Miami game (all things considered), and many expect Moore to push for playing time," Citro wrote.

"It’s just not clear where that playing time will take place. Moore and Daniels may battle it out for the starting right tackle spot. Will whoever loses that battle simply slide inside? It’s hard to say."

Luckily, there may be another position Moore could find snaps at.

Ian Moore can play his way into snaps at left tackle

With the way things could break down, since Austin Sievereld is both a great left tackle and actually a guard by trade, Moore might be able to steal some snaps protecting Julian Sayin's blindside this fall. That could potentially put him on NFL radars, since the spotlight from NFL scouts in Columbus shines brighter with each passing year under Ryan Day.

Moore could be a name to know now before he explodes this coming fall. Land-Grant Holy Land's Cole Van Wiechen believes he's "Ohio State’s most important offensive line question." With so many directions that Day and Tyler Bowen could go in, Moore is a major glue-guy in the trenches.

In Arthur Smith's offense, that will be make-or-break. The New Palestine, Indiana, product's time to shine is this spring and from here on out in Scarlet and Gray.
