The Ohio State football team ended Oregon's dream of finishing its season undefeated last season. They obliterated the Ducks in a game that wasn't close at any point. They never let them come up for air, essentially ending the game in the first half. The Ohio State Buckeyes eventually would go on to win the national championship.
Beating Oregon in the rematch was very satisfying for the Buckeyes. They ended up taking down Texas and Notre Dame in the next couple of games. The Ducks were devastated over the loss, and one former Oregon player still has not gotten over the beating he received.
Former Oregon receiver Tez Johnson is still not over what happened against the Buckeyes. While he now plays for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, he is still thinking about revenge on the Buckeyes next season. He even called out Jeremiah Smith.
Ohio State football team gets called out by former Oregon player
Johnson was very confident that the Ducks were going to beat Ohio State this season, if they end up playing them.
"Ohio State gonna get beat in the championship this year. I got a lot of receipts that I’m keeping right now, because yeah, I hold grudges. I’m sorry. I hold grudges. I mean, obviously, I wanted to win the Rose Bowl, but we came up short. So we’re gonna go back to the Rose Bowl this year, and if it’s Ohio State, we’re gonna come at Jeremiah Smith.”
Smith demolished the Ducks, lighting them up for 187 yards and two touchdowns on seven catches. He enters this season as the best player in college football. Johnson still seems to think that the Ducks will be able to beat the Buckeyes in any game they play.
Johnson won't be able to do anything about it now that he's in the NFL. He is putting a lot of hope and faith in the Ducks to be able to beat the defending national champions. The Buckeyes think that they can beat anyone they face this season, in part because they have Smith on their side and no one else does.
