The Ohio State football team is led by Jeremiah Smith as its best player. Smith is the best player in the country, and he doesn't touch the ball every play. He is the premier playmaker on the field, and he showed that last year as a true freshman. He was just 18 years old, and he was still dominating everyone.
This season, Smith has been able to spend a full offseason in the strength and conditioning program. He helped the Buckeyes win a national championship, but he isn't going to let that slow him down. He is already working hard to improve on being better than he was last season.
His head coach has already taken notice of the positive changes that Smith has made during the offseason. Day talked about it during Big Ten Media Day on Tuesday, and what he said should frighten every other team in the country, not just the ones in the Big Ten.
Ohio State football player Jeremiah Smith is already in freakish shape
According to Day, Smith is already bigger, faster, and stronger than he was last year as a freshman.
"He's gotten bigger and stronger and faster than he was last year."

"He's gotten bigger and stronger and faster than he was last year. He was at workouts the other day, and Mick constantly says during our warm-ups that he's the first guy every time we run through. The first guy, every single time."
The fact that Smith is already so much better than he was last year is such a scary thought for the rest of the teams in the country. He is already a very big and strong receiver, but he has gotten noticeably bigger. There are some pictures that have shown just how big he's gotten.
Smith's work ethic is something that Day singled out in that comment, citing that he is the first one out there for workouts and the last guy to leave the field. That's exactly what you need to see out of your best player, and Smith understands just how valuable he is.
The Buckeyes are going to try to get him the ball as much as possible this season. That's why he's working so hard to get better. He wants to be able to dominate the competition when he gets the ball.
