It seems Terry McLaurin has reached his limit with the Washington Commanders after months of trying to negotiate a new deal. It was reported by NFL insider Adam Schefter that the former Ohio State receiver requested a trade from the Commanders after reporting to camp just last week.

Even though McLaurin reported to camp last week, he wasn't participating and was quickly put on the physically unable to perform list with an ankle injury. So while the star wide receiver was there, he wasn't practicing and hoped he could use the time to speak with the administration to get a deal done, as he hadn't heard from them in over a month.

Talks either didn't happen or didn't go very well, and McLaurin has now requested a trade from the team that drafted him back in 2019.

The former Buckeye is currently entering the final year of his contract, hence why he has to request a trade instead of hitting free agency. McLaurin is finishing out his three-year, $68 million contract with the Commanders, but with many wide receivers around the league being rewarded huge contracts, McLaurin wants to negotiate an extension and get paid what he feels he is worth.

Since being drafted in 2019, McLaurin has coined the nickname "Scary Terry" for being a nightmare to guard on the field. In six seasons in the NFL, McLaurin was under 1,000 receiving yards in his rookie year and still had 919 yards. Overall in his career, he has 6,379 receiving yards and 38 touchdowns with only one fumble.

Even when the Commanders were the laughing stock of the NFL, McLaurin was producing for the team, and it is what has made him such an amazing receiver in the league. Some top teams that McLaurin could want to join would be the Kansas City Chiefs, the Indianapolis Colts, the New York Jets, the Las Vegas Raiders, the Los Angeles Chargers, and the San Francisco 49ers, according to CBS Sports.

If the Commanders choose to give McLaurin a new deal, he could rescind his trade request, but if not, now his fate lies in the hands of the Commanders organization.
