The Ohio State football program lost 30+ players to the Transfer Portal right as the 2025 season ended. It was by far the most players that they have left the Buckeyes in just one offseason. No position was hit harder than the wide receiver room, which lost four to the portal.
A total of five receivers left from the 2025 season, with Carnell Tate heading to the NFL Draft. Two of those former receivers decided to head to Notre Dame to play for former Ohio State linebacker Marcus Freeman. Both Quincy Porter and Mylan Graham headed to South Bend.
Graham left the Ohio State Buckeyes after two years with the program. He was set up for a bigger role this season if he had stayed with the Buckeyes. Now, he is taking shots at his former program for what seems like no apparent reason.
Former Ohio State receiver Mylan Graham takes a shot at Ohio State's academics
When asked what the biggest difference between Ohio State and Notre Dame is, Graham decided to take a veiled shot at Ohio State's academics. He described the different betweent he two institutions.
“Not too different. You just have to actually go in person and stuff like that. At Notre Dame, obviously, everybody knows how it is with academics, so just being able to lock in with stuff like that."
Graham makes it seem like no one takes online classes at Notre Dame, which is incorrect. Online classes can still be just as vigorous as in-person ones. As an Ohio State graduate myself, I can attest to that. Of course, Notre Dame has higher academic standards than Ohio State. No one is disputing that.
Graham will be looking for a bigger role than he had with the Buckeyes, with CJ Carr throwing him the ball. He won't have Brian Hartline coaching him, so it might be harder for Graham to develop into an NFL talent with the Fighting Irish.
