During the 2024 season, the Ohio State Buckeyes would not have won the national championship without TreVeyon Henderson. His screen pass touchdown against Texas at the end of the first half gave Ohio State a chance to take the lead right before halftime.

Henderson would then become a second-round pick by the Patriots the following spring. He has shown some flashes, but has spent most of this year hurt. Now, Henderson has had a medical emergency and has released a statement regarding what happened.

Former Ohio State running back TreVeyon Henderson release statement after medical emergency

Henderson released a statement on social media detailing the fact that he had a medical emergency that doctors still cannot explain. In the statement, he detailed that the symptoms he has been experiencing are still part of something that doctors cannot pinpoint.

According to Henderson, his long-term health seems to be in a good spot. However, these symptoms are obviously not great for his football career right now. He can't get on the field to help his team, which makes his standing with the organization murky just two years into his NFL career.

When he was with the Buckeyes, Henderson did have some injury issues. As a freshman, he had a concussion that knocked him out of a couple of games. In fact, he didn't play a full season until his senior season, when Quinshon Judkins was brought in to help take carries away.

This situation sounds serious. It's unclear when Henderson will be able to return to the field. Unexplained neurological symptoms are scary, especially when it comes to coordination and strength. Those are things that can affect his ability to play long-term.

Henderson is still under the care of doctors, so the hope is that they can pinpoint exactly what is wrong. As for the rest of this NFL season, things don't look good for him to return. That's pure speculation, however. He has not revealed a possible timeline for him to get back out there.

Former Ohio State running back TreVeyon Henderson might not finish this season

The Patriots are trying to fight for the AFC East crown with the Bills. Having Henderson would be ideal, but it doesn't seem that he will be ready unless this is taken care of quickly. Henderson remains one of the best Buckeye backs in recent history. He is someone who can take it to the house as soon as he touches the ball.

That ability is why New England drafted him in the first place. Quite frankly, the Buckeyes miss him dearly for that ability. They don't have anyone who has the same kind of ability on the current roster. The running backs have been a disaster for most of the season.

All Ohio State football fans are hoping that Henderson will be okay in the near future. He was a great Buckeye, and he will always hold a special place in people's hearts for his contributions to the national championship team. The Buckeyes will support him if he needs them, too.
