Former Ohio State football player takes it to the house on his first NFL touch

It's impossible to start off a career better than that.

The Ohio State football program won the national championship last season thanks to the strength of 15 players who are no longer with the team. 14 of them were NFL Draft picks in April. The Ohio State Buckeyes are certainly going to miss some of them this season.

One player they will certainly miss next season is TreVeyon Henderson. Henderson was a big-play waiting to happen every time he got the ball in his hands. His screen pass for a touchdown in the first half of the game against Texas in the first half of the Cotton Bowl will go down in Ohio State history.

Henderson has been killing it in training camp with the New England Patriots. He was a second-round pick by the Patriots, and it seems like he might be the best weapon that they have on offense already as a rookie. He showed everyone why on the first play he took the field.

On the first play of his first preseason game, Henderson took the ball on a kickoff and took it back 100 yards to the house, showing just how much of a weapon he can be.

Returning kicks was not something that the Buckeyes really let Henderson do much in his career. Perhaps they should have, because he took this to the house with relative ease. He was hardly touched after he sliced his way through the Commanders.

Ohio State can prepare players to do things they don't normally do in college to do them in the NFL. Henderson should have been able to return kicks a little more often than just at the very beginning of his career. He was a walking touchdown with the ball in his hands in Columbus.

Had Henderson not dealt with some injury problems, he would have been one of the best running backs in the history of the program. He is hoping to stay healthier and be a weapon for the entirety of his NFL career. It seems like the Patriots got a steal, but that's not a surprise to anyone who watched Ohio State.
