Former Ohio State football player loses a bet and has to dress like a Duck
By Ryan Stano
The Ohio State football team has just one loss on the season. It was to Oregon two weeks ago and the Buckeyes are hoping that they have fixed their issues. Those issues, specifically on defense, were on display against the Ducks. Oregon ended up winning the game 32-31.
In NFL locker rooms, there are a lot of bets that are made between teammates. When two players have their schools going against each other, a friendly wager often happens. That's exactly what happened between two Indianapolis Colts teammates a couple of weeks ago.
Former Ohio State football player Tyquan Lewis made a bet with fellow defensive lineman DeForest Buckner. Lewis was actually on the national championship team that beat Buckner while he was with the Ducks. The loser of the bet had to dress up like the other's mascot.

We know who won that game. Both Lewis and Buckner have been hurt, so it took them a while to pay off on the bet. Well, Lewis paid off his bet today. During media availability, Buckner accompanied Lewis to the podium as he was dressed like the Oregon Duck.
It was an embarrassing moment for Lewis, but it was funny. He definitely took the loss in stride. These are the kinds of things that keep the chemistry going well in NFL locker rooms. These kinds of bets are harmless and they are a lot of fun to pay off, even when you lose.
If the Ohio State Buckeyes end up playing the Ducks in a rematch, perhaps another bet of a similar ilk will happen. That rematch would likely come in the Big Ten Championship. If that happens, hopefully, Buckner is the one dressed up like Brutus instead of Lewis dressing up as the Duck again.
