The Ohio State football program makes sure that its players have skills that players from other programs don't have. Receivers are excellent at blocking in the run game, corners tackle well when stopping the run, and running backs catch the ball well out of the backfield.

Ohio State also makes sure that it teaches its backs how to pick up in pass protection. There were several times last season during the national championship run that the Ohio State Buckeyes had their running backs pick up some blitzes during critical times.

TreVeyon Henderson certainly did that during the four-game run to win it all, and that's part of the reason why the Patriots took him in the second round. Henderson actually showed off his pass-blocking skills during training camp on Wednesday. He might have done it a bit too well.

Henderson actually picked up a pass block so well that it started a camp during Patriots training camp. In fact, it was such a big skirmish after he was so good at bringing him down that head coach Mike Vrabel had to break it up himself and came away bloodied.

The Patriots were having a joint practice with the Commanders. The fact that former Ohio State football player Vrabel got in there and got bloodied while breaking it up is pretty wild, too.

If teams can't already handle how well Henderson is picking up blitzes in training camp, they are going to be furious with him when he actually knows what he's doing in the middle of the season. Henderson is already on his way to being perhaps the best rookie back in the league.

The Buckeyes wouldn't have beaten Texas without Henderson on the team. His screen pass that he took for a touchdown at the end of the first half will be played on highlight reels forever in Ohio State football history. He is going to add multiple great things for Vrabel in his first year as the head coach of the New England Patriots.
