The Ohio State football program has used the transfer portal several times in the past few years to get some running backs. Using the portal has been very effective for them in landing some solid backs. One of those running backs was Chip Trayanum.
Trayanum was brought in back in 2022 as a linebacker. He was switching positions from running back, which he had played at Arizona State. But because the Buckeyes had so many injuries at running back, they had to move Trayanum back to running back at the end of the season.
Trayanum would spend one more season with the Buckeyes before transferring after last year to Kentucky. His usage with the Wildcats dropped immensely. Now, Trayanum has found himself back in the state of Ohio after transferring for the third time in his career.
Former Ohio State football player transfers to Toledo
After not liking his usage at Kentucky, Trayanum has decided to transfer for the third time in his career. This time, he is back in the state of Ohio. He's decided to transfer to Toledo and will finish off his collegiate career in the MAC, which is probably a good place for him.
Toledo needs some help at the running back spot and Trayanum will have more opportunity there than he did with the Wildcats and even the Ohio State Buckeyes. This will be his sixth year of college, so this is his final run. He needs to make it count.
It's strange to see him transfer for the third time, but that's the world that we live in with college football now. The transfer portal has given players an enormous amount of freedom. Trayanum has benefitted greatly from the new transfer rules.
We wish him nothing but the best in what will be his final endeavor. He likely won't have a future in the NFL.
