When Urban Meyer was the head coach of the Ohio State football program, he was ruthless in beating Michigan. He never lost as the head coach of the Buckeyes, going 7-0 against TTUN. He hated TTUN, but respected them because of how much respect he had for the rivalry.

Meyer hated Michigan so much that he created a rule that people couldn't wear blue in the facility. Even NFL scouts of teams like the Colts, Lions, Bills, and Chargers were forced to wear a different color. That's how maniacal he was about hating TTUN and beating them.

All of that is expected from a former coach of the Ohio State Buckeyes. His past behavior is why it is so surprising that Meyer was singing the praises of a Michigan player. Meyer made sure that everyone knows how much he loves true freshman Bryce Underwood.

While breaking down film on The Big Ten Network, Meyer talked about how much he loves Underwood and what he does for Michigan.

"Don't pump the brakes on Bryce Underwood. He's going to be fantastic. I love this player. His release, everything looks fantastic."

It's unsettling hearing Meyer talk like this about a Michigan player. He has a job to do, and he stays unbiased when he's breaking down teams, but it's still strange to hear him have so much praise for someone who plays for that team. He still thinks Underwood is going to be a really good player.

Underwood looked horrible against Oklahoma last week, completing only 9/24 passes and losing the game. He didn't look comfortable in that game at all, but it was only his second game. It's still good for fans of the Buckeyes to see him struggle, no matter what point of the season it is.

Ohio State has all of the makings of another national championship team this year. Michigan is trying to figure out how to have a shot at making the College Football Playoff. Of course, that game at the end of November is going to be something that both teams have circled, as they always do.

Meyer will never pick TTUN to win The Game, but he still has to be objective about the players that they have. He still believes that Underwood will eventually figure it out and play very well for TTUN.
