The Connor Stalions cheating scandal puts an asterisk next to everything Michigan has done for the last five or so years. They won a national championship on the back of his illegal dealings. They even beat the Ohio State Buckeyes because of the cheating that went on.
While the NCAA punished TTUN severely for the penalties, they didn't go far enough. That's especially true if what former Buckeye and Wolverine Joey Velazquez alleges is true. He alleges that not only did Stalions have Ohio State's signs, but he also stole their film.
Joey Velazquez alleges Michigan stole practice film of Ohio State
In a lawsuit filed by Velazquez against CBS News Detroit, he alleges that Stalions had film illegally obtained from open practices Ohio State had. In the suit, it mentions “it was obvious that the film that Stalions was using was not broadcast film,” and Stalions "had even obtained film of Ohio State’s open practices through in-person advance scouting.”
Not only does Velazquez allege that, but he also alleges that Stalions told him to lie to the NCAA about everything. Stalions even allegedly told Velazquez to never give up his phone and that he had smashed his own phone to avoid the NCAA getting the evidence on it.
If what Velazquez says is true, then there is no doubt that TTUN cheated in order to beat Ohio State multiple times. It's easy eot beat a team when they know exactly what play is coming up next. That's especially true when someone can get that film from another team's practice.
This changes everything from a rivalry standpoint. The only reason why Ryan Day had issues taking TTUN down was that they knew every play he was going to run. If what Velazquez said is true, the NCAA should have stripped TTUN of its national championship because they cheated to get it.

Velazquez seems to be the only one near that program who wanted to do something honorable. He recorded his phone call with Stalions to make sure that he didn't get caught up in any of his lies and become a scapegoat. Now, he's suing an outlet for insinuating that he was the whistleblower in this case.
It's clear no one else associated with the Wolverines has a shred of integrity. That's why the NCAA essentially banned Jim Harbaugh from ever returning. Sherrone Moore was fired after getting blasted by the Buckeyes. Even former AD Warde Manuel wasn't able to get away from the cheating accusations.
That entire program is rotten to the core. Adding in the fact that some voodoo magic helped them steal a win from Western Michigan further cements TTUN as the most deplorable program in the country. Hopefully, Velazquez gets the compensatory damages he is seeking from the courts.
The Buckeyes need to eviscerate TTUN when they come to town in November. They need to show everyone that the only prayer they had of beating them was to use illegal materials.
