The Ohio State football program is going to have a very busy recruiting weekend. There are several high-level recruits who are on campus this weekend that the Buckeyes have a lot invested in. They would love to get at least a couple of commitments from the weekend.

While the Buckeyes are focused on making sure recruits have a good time this weekend, they are still on the recruiting trail for some other prospects, too. One of them has just set a commitment date for the end of June, and he is one of the better recruits that the Ohio State Buckeyes are after.

Xavier Griffin, a five-star linebacker recruit from Gainesville, Georgia, has set his commitment date for June 29th. Griffin is one of the prospects who will be on campus this weekend, so the Buckeyes are hoping that they can make a good impression on him.

Griffin is rated as the second-best linebacker in the country. He stands at 6'3 and 200 pounds and is very fast for a linebacker. He's someone who does an excellent job of stopping the run and rushing the passer. Quite frankly, he's a unique blend of skills that the Buckeyes would love to have.

Other than Ohio State, Griffin also has Florida State, Texas, Alabama, and Georgia in his final list of schools. While the Buckeyes are not projected to land Griffin, they still have a shot with him based on how his visit goes this weekend. They have a good closing rate once they get recruits in the building.

Right now, the Buckeyes have the third-best recruiting class in the country for the 2026 class. They are still hoping that they can win a recruiting national championship, but they need to land some of the top-level prospects that they are in the running for in order to get that crown.
