With spring ball wrapped up and the academic year coming to a close, it is time for players to get a break, head home, and relax before fall football camp starts. For Ohio State star wide receiver Jeremiah Smith, his idea of relaxing is continuing to work on football.

Smith was seen in a video working out with now Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Fernando Mendoza down in Miami, where both are from. Mendoza was calling some different routes and players for the receivers to run, and even threw a dart to Smith on a slant route across the field.

Seeing Mendoza and Smith link up in the offseason is awesome, especially when both played against each other this past season. Mendoza was the reason Smith and the Buckeyes didn't win the Big Ten Championship in 2025, with the Hoosiers walking away with the close win.

It was also the reason Ohio State didn't have the No. 1 seed heading into the College Football Playoff last season. However, it seems like it is all water under the bridge between the two fierce competitors, and both are simply interested in improving for the next season.

Smith is getting ready to head into his third season with the Buckeyes after winning a National Championship in his freshman season and falling short by a few games his sophomore year. Mendoza was just the No. 1 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, heading to Las Vegas, where he will most likely become the starter for the Raiders.

There is the suspicion that this could be Smith's final season at Ohio State, choosing to head to the NFL Draft after three seasons with the Buckeyes. However, Smith has also talked in the past about trying to bring multiple championships to Columbus.
