The calendar may still read May, but Ohio State football fans are counting down the days for the 2025 campaign to get here. As always, the showdown with Michigan is already circled on a lot of calendars, with the late November dance expected to be thrilling once again.

We hate to admit it, but Michigan has dominated the series of late, winning four in a row. Ryan Day and his playmakers are focused on getting some sweet revenge on Sherrone Moore this fall. However, ESPN doesn't see that happening.

That's right, some early predictions for next season have been posted and ESPN thinks that the Wolverines are going to take down the Buckeyes for the fifth year in a row. It goes without saying, but it'd be a disaster if this proves to be the case.

Ohio State losing to Michigan again would be a total nightmare for Ryan Day

"Last year's astonishing Buckeyes loss might've cost Ryan Day his job had the playoff not expanded to 12 and given Ohio State a second bite at the apple. And so, when this year's game comes around on Nov. 29, the buzz won't be about Ohio State's 2025 championship game win. It will be about the four straight losses, and that's an awfully big monkey now living on Day's back. So, we won't be too shocked if that dark cloud looms so large that the Buckeyes stumble yet again thanks to all of the outside noise. Would the Ohio State faithful be OK with a fifth straight loss to Michigan if it was followed by a second straight national title?"

Last season, Michigan shocked Ohio State and it was a loss that even had some people calling for Day to be canned. Thankfully, the Buckeyes leader was able to silence his haters everywhere with OSU going on a dream run in the College Football Playoff - Michigan of course watched the CFP from home.

This upcoming season, Julian Sayin is expected to be the new QB1 with Will Howard off to the NFL and Pittsburgh. Sayin is hoping to live up to his 5-star hype, although Day is yet to officially announce him as the starter for Week 1.

Despite the uncertainty at QB, the Buckeyes are built to post another memorable season, with a return trip to the CFP surely on the way. The reigning national champs are also going to be motivated to take down Michigan and have a lot of people eat their words. Yup, Nov. 29 can't get here soon enough.
