In just his third year in Seattle, Smith-Njigba became the second player in Seahawks history to win the awards, the first since 2005. This is the first NFL honor that a former Ohio State player has won since 2023, when CJ Stroud won Offensive Rookie of the Year, an award that has been dominated by former Buckeyes since 2016.

Smith-Njigba is the first former Buckeye since wide receiver Michael Thomas won the Offensive Player of the Year award back in 2019. So, with this win, does Smith-Njigba hold the belt for best former Buckeye?
