We don't have to tell you that Ohio State football fans don't have too much love for Michigan superfan Dave Portnoy. Okay, that's putting things lightly. Earlier this week, however, Portnoy had plenty of people in Columbus pretty upset over a simple tweet.
On his personal account, Portnoy reached out to 5-star Buckeyes commit Chris Henry Jr., showing interest in trying to get him to flip to the team up north. Never going to happen. With that said, Portnoy doesn't seem to be ready to take no for an answer. To close out the Barstool College Football Show on Thursday, Portnoy doubled down with his interest in Henry.
"I'm making a move for Chris Henry Jr."
Oregon is trying and failing to flip elite Ohio State football WR commits
Dave Portnoy is 'making a move' for 5-star Ohio State commit Chris Henry Jr.
Portnoy is still riding high from helping Michigan flip 5-star quarterback Bryce Underwood from LSU and now he's hoping to pull off the same kind of move with Henry. Portnoy and Michigan aren't the only ones interested, as Dan Lanning continues to recruit Henry as well.
The Big Ten rivals see the potential Henry has, as he's ranked five stars and the No. 3 wideout in the country according to the 247Sports Composite. He's a generational talent, which he reminded everyone of during his stellar Week 1 to open up his senior campaign.
We hate to break it to Portnoy, but Henry is Columbus-bound and nothing is going to change that. It really feels like Portnoy is going to end up wasting his time and energy, as Henry has said on multiple occasions that he's all-in with Ohio State.
He's got a great relationship with Brian Hartline and Ryan Day, which has only strengthened his commitment to the reigning national champs. Ohio State has missed out on some of its top targets due to NIL opportunities, but that's not expected to be the case here with Henry. Portnoy can try all he wants to 'make a move' on the future Buckeyes wideout, but we just don't see anything happening here.
