The Ohio State football team has been scrambling over the last couple of weeks to replace a lot of lost talent. They had 30+ players enter the Transfer Portal over the last couple of weeks. This week, they have done a much better job of replacing those players.

The Buckeyes have added some talent along the defensive line and the secondary, really fortifying the defense after losing a lot of solid players from what was statistically the best defense in college football this season. Offensive players have been a bit slower to come in.

Losing five receivers from the 2025 team certainly leaves them with a big hole in that room. New receivers coach Cortez Hankton has brought in his first P4 receiver recruit, bringing a player from the same LSU program that he just left to join the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Ohio State lands receiver Kyle Parker from the Transfer Portal

Kyle Parker has decided to transfer to Ohio State. Parker had 330 receiving yards and four touchdowns for the Tigers last season. He projects to be a slot guy for the Buckeyes, which is something they need with Carnell Tate now in the NFL Draft. Brandon Inniss will likely move to the outside.

Parker becomes the second receiver from the Transfer Portal that the Buckeyes have added. They also added UTSA receiver Devin McCuin early on in the portal proceedings. Bringing Parker in gives Ohio State much more depth at a position they were suddenly lacking in that regard.

Chris Henry Jr. still has a shot to be one of the starting receivers on the outside as a true freshman. The only receivers who are guaranteed playing time next season are Jeremiah Smith and Inniss. Everyone else on the roster is going to have to fight for playing time.

Hankton has done a nice job so far in this portal cycle, even if he lost a couple of former five-star recruits to the portal. That was bound to happen once Brian Hartline left.
