College GameDay will visit Columbus for Ohio State football vs. Tennessee game
By Ryan Stano
College GameDay goes to the biggest game in college football every weekend. That has continued even after the new TV contracts have taken effect. It doesn't matter which conference one of the teams plays in. They will be on-site for the biggest game of the week. The Ohio State football team knows that too.
Ohio State has been a part of three GameDay broadcasts so far this season. They were on-site when the Buckeyes traveled to take on Oregon. They were also there for Ohio State's victory at Penn State. Most recently, they were in Columbus when the Ohio State Buckeyes beat Indiana.
The College Football Playoff is now upon us and every game is big. College GameDay will actually be at two different sites in the first round of the Playoff. On Friday night, they'll be in South Bend to see the Hoosiers play Notre Dame. The following day, they'll be in Columbus.

This is the first time that there is a 12-team Playoff, so GameDay is going to try to pump it up as much as possible. With South Bend and Columbus being relatively close to each other, it makes sense for them to hit both sites in a 24-hour period. It's certainly doable.
With GameDay coming to Columbus, this will be the fourth time this season that Ohio State has been somewhere that GameDay has been. So far, the Buckeyes are 2-1 in those games this season, with the only loss coming in the Oregon contest. They're looking to improve that record.
This will be the first home game in December in Ohio State football history. The Buckeyes are hoping for a loud crowd that can help them win this game. It's a critical game in program history because Ryan Day's job is riding on how this performance goes.
