We are now one month away from the Ohio State Buckeyes getting back on the field at The Shoe and it can't get here any sooner. People are sitting on pins and needles waiting to pack the stadium to watch the Buckeyes send a message against Arch Manning and the Texas Longhorns.
Millions of people will be watching this one on Big Noon Kickoff on FOX, but for those of you lucky enough to be in Columbus, you're going to enjoy quite the show. Oh, but it's also going to cost you a pretty penny to watch the biggest game of opening weekend live in person.
When taking a look at Ticketmaster, StubHub and other sites, the showdown between these two powerhouses is almost sold out. However, the cheapest single ticket is available for $2,800. If you're looking for two seats, get ready to spend more than $1,600 each. Goodness.
Tickets for Ohio State vs. Texas in Week 1 are Super Bowl-level expensive
Obviously, those prices could go up or down leading up to kickoff, but it sure is headturning that it's going to cost someone that much to see the season-opener. Hey, it's not going to be cheap if you want to see the reigning national champs in action, especially with Manning heading to town.
Leading up to the new season, the Heisman Trophy buzz is already through the roof for Manning, who's getting ready for Year 1 as the starter for Steve Sarkisian and the Longhorns. Obviously, there's pressure for him to live up to the hype due to the success of his uncles Eli Manning and Peyton Manning.
Ohio State could care less about that, as Caleb Downs and Co. will be ready to give him all kinds of issues once late August gets here. As for the OSU offense, Julian Sayin and Jeremiah Smith will look to create plenty of magic together vs. Texas. Smith is without question one of the best players in the college game and Arch won't be outshining him in this one. Again, Week 1 can't get here any sooner. For those who want to watch this one in person, though, it might be time to take out a loan.
