The Ohio State football team has the best player in college football in receiver Jeremiah Smith. Smith is by far the most dangerous weapon in the country. He's borderline unstoppable, only allowing triple teams to take him away from being a dominant force.

Smith has proven to be the best receiver in the country. The last time that the Buckeyes had the best receiver in the country heading into a college football season was Marvin Harrison Jr. back in the 2023 season. Harrison Jr. finished fourth in the Heisman Trophy voting that season.

The Ohio State Buckeyes haven't had a Heisman Trophy winner since 2006, when quarterback Troy Smith won the award. Smith is the best chance that the Buckeyes have to get a winner since Smith came into that season as one of the preseason favorites.

CFP pundit believes Ohio State football player Jeremiah Smith will win the Heisman Trophy

One college football pundit believes that Smith will win the Heisman Trophy in the 2025 season. On3's J.D. Pickell believes that Smith will walk away with the most prestigious award in college football.

If Smith ends up winning the Heisman Trophy this season, then that likely means that the Buckeyes will end up winning the national championship. That's a combination that every Ohio State football fan would sign up for. Smith would certainly give the Buckeyes a great chance to win the title if he wins the Heisman.

Pickell believes that Smith will win the Heisman Trophy over Garrett Nussmeier, LaNoriss Sellers, and Dante Moore. Smith is the only non-quarterback on the Finalist list, and he's the only receiver. The Buckeyes have to make sure they have a quarterback who can throw him the ball.

Smith is looking for a good start to the season against Texas, the only team that was able to shut him down last season. A big game against the Longhorns will give him a great jump start to winning that award.
