Ohio State showed the Big Ten who the boss was in Week 7.
After dispatching Indiana 19-15 in Bloomington and ending the Hoosiers' 22-game winning streak dating back to December 2024, the Buckeyes proved it's definitively them.
How does the rest of the B1G stack up now that we're past the midway point of the 2026 college football regular season?
Let's take a look:
No. 1: Ohio State
OSU has handled October well, traveling to Iowa and Indiana and handing out losses to some of the best teams in the conference. The Buckeyes enter the bye week with a major Julian Sayin injury question. At 6-1, Ohio State could probably afford one more loss to make the CFP, though. The Buckeyes need Sayin back ASAP to avoid any awkward questions heading into December.
No. 2: Indiana
The Hoosiers were a clutch Nick Marsh touchdown catch, with his left foot inbounds, away from a two-loss Ohio State team in mid-October. It's not tough to appreciate how strong Indiana looked in the loss, even if the Buckeyes entered this one banged up on the injury report.
No. 3: UCLA
Another week, another win for UCLA. Bob Chesney's Bruins had few issues during a 17-7 win over Wisconsin in Pasadena. UCLA led wire to wire and may be top 10-bound in the AP Poll.
No. 4: USC
USC comes out of the bye in Week 7 with a matchup against the Badgers in Madtown next Saturday evening.
No. 5: Iowa
The Hawkeyes also enjoyed the bye this weekend. A trip to the Twin Cities awaits against Minnesota next Saturday.
No. 6: Oregon
Oregon saved its season by coming back to beat Nebraska in the latest game of Week 7. The game ended after 2 am ET. Dylan Raiola replaced Brock Thomas at the quarterback position after three quarters and threw the game-winner to tight end Jamari Johnson in the 17-14 triumph over the Cornhuskers.
No. 7: Northwestern
Squeaking by Michigan State, Northwestern maintained its one-loss record, with the lone blemish coming against the defending champs. The Wildcats' offense is humming under former championship play-caller Chip Kelly.
No. 8: Nebraska
Nebraska is now a loser of two games in a row. The Cornhuskers didn't get ranked, and now they don't look like they will be in 2026, barring a late-season surge.
No. 9: Wisconsin
Losing to the Bruins isn't bad, but getting swept by the LA teams next week against the Trojans would be a major buzzkill for Wisconsin.
No. 10: Michigan
TTUN finally benched Bryce Underwood and rode legacy quarterback Tommy Carr to a 21-18 win at the "Big House" over Penn State on Saturday. Too little, too late?
No. 11: Washington
Washington got a solid win over Purdue on Friday night in West Lafayette. The Huskies are a three-loss team and may finish at the line for bowl eligibility this season.
No. 12: Minnesota
The Golden Gophers had a bye in Week 7 but will welcome Iowa next weekend for a major clash in the conference's middle of the pack.
No. 13: Purdue
The Boilermakers didn't have the worst loss of the season in a 38-26 defeat to Washington, but Purdue is back below .500 again.
No. 14: Illinois
Illinois most recently won, so they stay out of the very bottom tier of the B1G during the Fighting Illini's bye week.
No. 15: Michigan State
The Spartans played it close with Northwestern. That might be Michigan State's highlight of the season so far, besides beating Toledo.
No. 16: Penn State
"We Are" the losers of four straight games. The Nittany Lions are clearly going nowhere fast in the Matt Campbell era after wilting against the Wolverines on Saturday in Ann Arbor.
No. 17: Rutgers
Rutgers won the battle of the bottom-feeders over Maryland on Saturday night in College Park. The Scarlet Knights finally have a win over an FBS team.
No. 18: Maryland
Welcome to the bottomless pit, Terrapins. Losing to Rutgers 37-30 at home in 2026 is a B1G sin.
