Another former Michigan coach involved in troubling allegations

Ohio State football fans are very much aware of some of the issues former Michigan coaches have had. Now, another one is in hot water.

Over the last few years, the Ohio State football fans have watched coaches from TTUN be involved in a lot of bad things. Jim Harbaugh will never coach again after being part of the largest cheating scandal in college football history. Sherrone Moore was recently fired after having an inappropriate relationship with a staffer.

Those moves, along with the fact that the Buckeyes were finally able to take down Michigan last season, make it seem like that program is on the downslide. Now, even former assistants under Harbaugh are getting in trouble, as another former staffer has some problems.

Back in 2023, Harbaugh hired LaTroy Lewis to be a graduate assistant with the team. He left after the 2024 season for Toledo to be Toledo's defensive line coach. Just a couple of weeks ago, he was hired by the Falcons to be their assistant defensive line coach. Now, he's already been fired.

Lewis has now been accused of sexual assault, and Kevin Stefanski has already cut ties with Lewis. It's yet another example of someone from Harbaugh's coaching tree catching some serious heat for off-the-field related issues. That doesn't include the many coaches who were implicated in the cheating scandal.

While fans of the Ohio State Buckeyes are often frustrated with the product on the field when they don't win a national championship, at least they don't have to worry about their coaches getting in trouble. Ryan Day goes through an extremely stringent vetting process before he brings them to Columbus.

It remains unclear what will happen with Lewis, but it has gotten to the point that everyone Harbaugh has worked with in the last few years is not getting the benefit of the doubt. Ohio State fans certainly don't take glee that someone else is facing serious allegations, but at least they don't have to wonder about coaches on Ohio State's staff.
