Accusations of cheating follow Michigan once more after Ohio State defeat

Fans on social media wondered why this seemed to only happen to Ohio State's sideline during The Game.

For the last few years, the cheating scandal has followed Michigan around. After punishing TTUN and Sherrone Moore for an illegal operation that included illegal advanced scouting and sign-stealing, Ohio State football fans are on notice for any fishy behavior.

TTUN has lost the benefit of the doubt in any questionable situation after that debacle. The Ohio State Buckeyes have finally erased all doubt about who's better after taking down TTUN on Saturday, 27-9. It was complete domination, and they did it under adverse circumstances.

The Buckeyes got the win despite having issues with their communication system on the sideline. It was something that was only happening to Ohio State, and some fans thought that Michigan was doing it on purpose. Cheating accusations started flying on social media.

Ohio State football fans think TTUN tried to cheat again

As Adam King of 10TV noted, the Buckeyes had the power go down on their sidelines.

With the communication systems down, Julian Sayin was having problems communicating with offensive coordinator Brian Hartline. That is why Sayin kept having to go to the sideline so that Ryan Day could relay the play call to him. Of course, this set off a firestorm of allegations from Ohio State fans on social media.

Usually, when this sort of thing happens, the other team has to shut their communications down, as well. That means that Michigan would have had to shut its stuff down, too. It's unclear if that's what happened in this game, but it didn't seem to affect Ohio State much.

There is no evidence to support that TTUN intentionally shut off the communications for Ohio State. That's not something that is usually handled by the home team, anyway. If the Buckeyes had issues, they didn't show it. Sayin was fantastic after starting out 0-2 and an interception.

When anything close to nefarious happens with TTUN, people are going to assume there is some cheating involved. Michigan has earned that reputation with what it has done with the Connor Stalions situation. It's something they are going to have to wear forever.

No matter. A little communication issue did not derail what an absolute thumping that the Buckeyes handed TTUN at home in the snow. It was an incredible statement to the rest of college football that Ohio State is an absolute threat to win back-to-back national championships.
