A starting quarterback might not play in the Ohio State football vs. Penn State game

There's a chance that one of the starters at quarterback won't be available for the Ohio State football vs. Penn State game.

The Ohio State football team has a big game this weekend against Penn State. It will be the second time this season that the Buckeyes have played in a top-five matchup. It's also the second time that the game is on the road. As we know, the previous game was a loss at Oregon.

The Ohio State Buckeyes are hoping for a different result this time around. Ohio State isn't exactly inspiring a bunch of confidence that they can do that after their poor game against Nebraska. They barely won that game 21-17 and didn't look very good on offense.

On the other side of this matchup, the Nittany Lions didn't exactly bowl over their opponent either. They struggled with Wisconsin until late in the game. Part of the reason for that is that starting quarterback Drew Allar left the game with an injury and didn't return.

Drew Allar might not be able to play against the Ohio State football team

When asked about his status for the Ohio State game, James Franklin said that Allar would be a game-time decision. He did say that he will be getting reps in practice on Tuesday though. That seems to bode well for him actually being able to suit up.

Penn State's backup actually played pretty well in Allar's stead. Beau Pribula came in and was able to move the ball for them. He was 6/9 for 83 yards with one touchdown and one interception. He also ran the ball five times for 45 yards and a score.

Ohio State doesn't do well with mobile quarterbacks. Pribula might still be an issue for the Buckeyes. If I had to guess right now, Allar will play on Saturday afternoon. I highly doubt Franklin will say anything about his status until kickoff. He wants to keep it a secret.
