The Ohio State football program has spent more time and resources on David Gabriel Georges than any other recruit in the 2027 recruiting class. He is a five-star running back and is rated as the second-best running back in the country. The Buckeyes really like what he can bring to the team.
Gabriel Georges has narrowed his list down to three schools. He has Ohio State, Tennessee, and Ole Miss on his final list. Really, it's a fight between the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Vols. Ohio State has felt good about their chances to sign him, and they believe they are the favorites.
On Monday night, there was a report from Rivals that Gabriel Georges had made his collegiate decision. They cited his uncle as the source, although no final decision has been made. In fact, Gabriel Georges has now come out and refuted the report entirely.
Ohio State 5-star recruiting target crushes report he has made his commitment decision
Gabriel Georges took to social media to tell everyone that he didn't say anything, and no one knows what he is doing yet.
I didn't say anything.

That's as clear as it gets, straight from the horse's mouth. If he claims he hasn't told anyone about his decision yet, then fans have to take that at face value. DGG was expected to make his recruiting announcement later in the month of July, and that still seems to be the case.
This is not the first time that an extended family member has claimed to have firsthand information about a recruit's decision-making. Of course, no one actually has any information about what Gabriel Georges wants to do yet. He is the only one who knows that decision.
The Buckeyes will continue to try to recruit him as best they can until he makes his commitment decision. Of course, even then, things aren't final. Until Signing Day, it's the Wild West. Multiple teams will come in with giant NIL offers in an attempt to sway him, no matter which school he chooses.
Ohio State feels good about its chances to land David Gabriel Georges
Throughout all of the chaos, the Buckeyes still feel confident about the package they can offer him. While they won't reach the absurd amounts of NIL money that Tennessee is willing to offer, there are still plenty of other things that they can offer that are attractive to DGG.
Of course, Ohio State hasn't had a five-star running back commit to the program since 2021. That was TreVeyon Henderson, and that worked out pretty well for them. He helped them win a national championship in 2024. DGG has the same kind of upper-echelon talent.
The Buckeyes will be confident until the day that he makes an actual commitment. If Ryan Day is able to land him, the Buckeyes will feel vindicated about almost the entire 2027 recruiting class. It's pretty clear that they have wanted Gabriel Georges more than any other prospect in this class.
Gabriel Georges could give Ohio State a generational recruit at the running back position if things go well.
