These days when it comes to college football recruiting, it's never a shock when a highly-touted recruit pledges to one school, only to back out of things shortly after that. That's not going to be the case for the Ohio State football team and 5-star commit Blaine Bradford.
Despite the 6-1, 205-pounder announcing his pledge to the reigning national champs in late March, teams have continued to recruit him, hoping to record one of the biggest flips of the year. Those schools are wasting their time.
In a recent interview with Buckeye Huddle, Bradford made it more than clear that he's 100 percent locked in with Ohio State. Not only that, he added that he's only going to be taking one official visit moving forward, with that trip being him going to Columbus.
5-star Ohio State commit Blaine Bradford won't be taking other official visits
“I never understood why people committed and still took visits,” Bradford said. “I feel like if you commit, you’re committed for a reason. You committed because you’re really selling yourself to that school. I feel like it would just be disrespectful for me to take other visits."
Bradford of course wasn't done there, once again letting everyone know that nothing is going to change the status of his recruitment. He'll be playing for Ohio State at the next level for Ryan Day, period.
“I’m a man of my word," he said passionately. "At the end of the day, everybody can try (to flip him), I don’t mind talking to people about it or explaining myself, but yeah I’m a man of my word and I plan on sticking to it.
Anyone else fired up over how loyal the youngster is to the Buckeyes? With Bradford being a Baton Rouge product, and his older brother being at LSU, there has been plenty of speculation that Brian Kelly and the Tigers could make a run at landing him.
The rumors are probably going to keep coming in, but the 5-star safety isn't going to be paying attention to anything. Come December, Bradford will make things official with OSU during the Early Signing Period. When he does, Bradford will be doing so as the No. 3 safety in the country and No. 24 prospect overall according to the 247Sports Composite.
