As things stand, the Ohio State football team holds a pair of 5-star commitments for the 2026 class. Wideout Chris Henry Jr. and safety Blaine Bradford are on board. Henry is locked in with the Buckeyes, cancelling other visits.
However, there's no question that Bradford is on 'flip watch' leading up to the new season, as the LSU Tigers continue to work overtime in trying to get him to change his mind. The buzz that LSU could pull that off is only continuing to grow this weekend.
On Saturday, the Tigers were able to land a new commitment from 4-star defensive lineman Deuce Geralds, who is a Louisiana native. Despite currently playing his high school ball in Georgia, he holds the Bayou State close to his heart and he said he's coming home to play college ball. This was something Bradford, a Baton Rouge product, took notice of and posted on his social media.
5-star Ohio State commit Blaine Bradford is clearly still interested in LSU
This could just be Bradford being excited for his friend. At the same time, Ohio State fans are convinced that there's more behind this. It doesn't help that his older brother Jacob was a 2025 prospect and he signed with the Tigers.
You think big bro is in Bradford's ear about joining him with the Tigers? Definitely. At the same time, 5-star defensive lineman Lamar Brown is also helping Brian Kelly out in the recruiting department, as he's working to get Bradford to stay in Baton Rouge and make history with LSU at the next level.
Having said all of that, Bradford remains fully committed to Ohio State and earlier this offseason he said that he was all done with recruiting and his future was going to be with the Buckeyes. That was nice to see, but LSU is going all-in to land him and his latest social media activity likely has people in Columbus a bit worried too.
Bradford is a 5-star playmaker, ranked the No. 5 safety in the country, No. 2 player from Louisiana and No. 36 prospect nationally. He's getting ready for his senior season with Baton Rouge Catholic before making the move to join Ohio State, but that's something LSU will work to prevent from happening all the way until the Early Signing Period gets here.
