3 bad performances from the Spring Game Ohio State fans shouldn't worry about

While these players didn't play particularly well during the Spring Game, fans still shouldn't worry about them when the Fall rolls around.

The Ohio State football program has officially finished Spring practice. Saturday's Spring Game was the last part of it. It was a rainy game that saw the defense dominate the offense. Despite that, some offensive players did have some good performances.

This was the first time that a lot of Ohio State Buckeyes played in the Shoe in front of fans. With that being the case, there were a few poor performances on Saturday that might be cause for alarm. Yet, these three players who didn't have a good game shouldn't alarm fans.

1. Julian Sayin

Ohio State's starting quarterback did not have his best day. He threw an interception after the ball was tipped at the line, and he didn't throw a touchdown pass. In fact, the only touchdown he had was a rushing touchdown that likely wouldn't have happened in a real game.

Yet, there is no cause for alarm. Sayin was playing behind two backup tackles. Neither of them was any good, and Sayin was running for his life. He was a Heisman Trophy Finalist a year ago as a sophomore. He will be fine when the actual games start in the Fall.

2. Brandon Inniss

Brandon Inniss is one of the players who is respected the most on this team. He was a captain last year and is a great candidate to wear the Block O this season. He was pretty much non-existent during the Spring Game, which some fans would point out has been a microcosm of his career.

Again, the lack of healthy offensive linemen was an issue for Inniss in having a productive Spring Game. Sayin just didn't have the time to look for anyone not named Jeremiah Smith. Inniss is a former five-star recruit and is entering the final year of his career. He should still be fine this season.

3. Carson Hinzman

Perhaps no one on the Buckeyes' roster has had more of a roller coaster career than Carson Hinzman. He started at center as a freshman before being completely benched in his sophomore year in 2024. At the end of the year, he was thrust back in the lineup when Seth McLaughlin got hurt.

Hinzman had a rough game in the Spring Game and was the primary cause of the interception Sayin threw. He had a good year last season, however. It would be surprising if he ended up struggling as a senior at the center spot.
