Ohio State already has nine committed recruits in the Class of 2027, giving them the No. 3-ranked class, according to 247Sports. Head coach Ryan Day has worked hard on the recruiting trail and already has one five-star recruit committed, and he has just been granted more time to try to get another.
Five-star wide receiver Kesean Bowman was set to announce his commitment on February 10, but has now pushed it back, stating that he just is not ready to commit just yet. Bowman narrowed his choices down to Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Oregon, Miami, and Ohio State. It seemed like Tennessee, his home state team, was leading the way, but Vandy and Miami are making a surge for the elite pass catcher.

Now, Bowman was once an Oregon commit, and he still has the Ducks on his list, but it feels like the Buckeyes and the Ducks are running a race they have already lost. However, with the push back of his commitment date, Day could come in and steal his commitment from the leading teams.
Bowman is the No. 32 player in the Class of 2027, the No. 5 wide receiver in the class, and the No. 2 player in the state of Tennessee, according to 247Sports Composite rankings. Day already has wide receiver Jamier Brown a part of the recruiting class, but wide receivers tend to like Columbus and the perks it brings them after their college careers.
Just because it seems like Ohio State is out of the race, it is never smart to count out the recruiting strategies of Ryan Day. The Buckeyes could become the leading team for Bowman's commitment overnight. Day will just have to work some of his magic.
