The Ohio State football team returns this week after having their second bye week. They return after recording their only loss of the season so far. That loss came at the hands of the Oregon Ducks, who are the new number-one team in the country in the polls.

Ohio State still has a really good team. They can still make the College Football Playoff. Looking at what happened while they were off, another undefeated team fell over the weekend. There won't be many undefeated teams left in a couple of weeks. Ohio State still is in a good spot.

Just how good of a spot are they in, though? In this week's College Football Playoff prediction table, there is more movement at the bottom than there is at the top. The bottom of that table could be what the Ohio State Buckeyes are looking at if they don't beat Penn State in a couple of weeks.

Oregon deserves to be at the top and have the number-one overall seed right now. They look like the best team in the country, even if the Buckeyes could have beaten them. Ohio State stays at five ahead of Georgia despite the bulldogs beating Texas over the weekend.

The reason why I still have Texas ahead of Georgia is because I think the Longhorns will ultimately win the SEC. Carson Beck has looked shaky at times for Georgia and I actually trust Quinn Ewers more than I do Beck. The Dawgs will likely lose another game soon.

Iowa State looks like the best team in the Big 12 now that BYU almost lost to Oklahoma State. The Cyclones look like they can beat anyone else in the conference. But this could also change next week. The Big 12 is the conference with the most volatility in it.

If the Buckeyes beat Penn State in a couple of weeks, they could find themselves in that top spot. That's asking a lot out of the defense, though.
