Ohio State Football: Michigan once again accused of cheating
By Ryan Stano
Another day, another NCAA investigation into TTUN. Reports have emerged that the NCAA is investigating Michigan for the second time this season after Harbaugh had to serve a three-game suspension to start the season. Harbaugh has also accused the Ohio State football program of cheating in the past.
To be specific, the NCAA is investigating Michigan for trying to send staff members to opponents’ games to steal signals the week before they play Michigan, according to Yahoo Sports’ Ross Dellenger. The Big Ten has now notified all future opponents of this investigation.
As an Ohio State football fan, this is too good. Harbaugh has talked about other teams cheating for years and even logged an allegation at Ryan Day for doing so. Yet, this is the second time in less than six months that the NCAA is investigating wrongdoing under Harbaugh.
You have to wonder how far this sign-stealing goes back. Did this go back to last year? Years before that? How long has Harbaugh needed to cheat in order to beat other teams? Have they done this in advance scouting of the Buckeyes? There are a lot of questions that need to be answered.
This is a lot like the Spygate controversy that the New England Patriots had in the NFL. They were found to have videotaped other team’s signals and paid a hefty price for it. If the NCAA finds that Harbaugh and his staff did do this, how severe will the punishments be?
Harbaugh will likely try to leave before he has to find out. He has been trying to get into the NFL for the last few years. This might be the year he finally begs enough to get a job and avoid any sanctions the NCAA would put on him.
I’m extremely interested to see where this investigation leads and we will keep you updated as we find out more.
