Total Confidence Level – 78 Percent

My confidence level this week is at 78 percent. This is the lowest score I have ever had for an Ohio State team when going up against Maryland. If this game was on the road, given past performances in College Park, it would probably be even lower, but I am kind of surprised I am not at least at 80 percent or higher.

Maybe it’s Maryland’s undefeated record up to this point, or the fact that they have been talking about beating one of the big three in the east all off-season that has my confidence slightly shaky for this game. Hopefully, by the final whistle, I can exhale and make fun of myself for not having more confidence in this one.

This team reminds me so much of the 2002 national championship squad. Every week it was a new thriller. Nothing came easy for that team, but somehow, every single week they were able to figure it out. Ryan Day’s 2023 team feels a lot like that.

I’m not sure who Maryland would equate to from that 2002 season, but one thing is for sure, it isn’t going to be easy. Remember Buckeye Nation, no matter the score, if the final outcome is an Ohio State W, it was a good game.
