Ohio State Football: Ryan Day has funny response when asked about his wife
By Ryan Stano
The Ohio State football team had the biggest win of the season so far over Notre Dame on Saturday night. Ryan Day was extremely fired up after that game as we all saw in that postgame interview. We also know he spent a lot of time preparing for that game.
Being a coach at such a high level at such a demanding place can take it’s toll. Day and his whole family have to make some sacrifices during the season in order for the Ohio State football team to be at its best. We learned of some of those sacrifices today.
Day was talking at a function when he was asked a question by someone in the audience. He was asked what the most romantic thing he’s done for his wife is. His response was, “The most romantic thing I’ve done for my wife in the last few months is beat Notre Dame last Saturday night.” You can see his response in this clip on X.
Clearly, Day is worried about beating the team in front of him every week. That’s the life of a head coach in the Big Ten, especially as one with the amount of tradition that Ohio State has. I’m sure his wife was also very happy with the Buckeyes winning in South Bend too.
This bye week is a good week for Day to actually do something romantic for his wife though. He had the time, so hopefully, that answer wouldn’t be the same if he was asked that question again sometime next week. He needs to treat his wife!
Ohio State will play their next game next Saturday against Maryland. Day and his wife can sit back and watch some of the other college games this week knowing that they can’t possibly lose this weekend.
