Ohio State Football gets its first game on Peacock revealed
By Ryan Stano
You knew that when the Big Ten decided to go with NBC that they would put some Ohio State football games exclusively on their streaming service Peacock. It’s a fact of life for all Big Ten teams. In fact, TTUN has its opener exclusively on Peacock.
We now know when the Ohio State football team will have its first Peacock-exclusive game. It will be the Maryland game on October 7th and it will be on at 3:30. This will be the first game that most Buckeye fans will have to pay to watch since most of their games are on linear TV.
I was actually hoping that the Buckeyes were going to be able to hold off on being on Peacock until next season but that will not be the case. Also, this game is exclusively on the non-free version of Peacock. I just wanted to make that clear to help with my next point.
My next point is that there is a very easy workaround for those who don’t want to stay connected to Peacock. Just do a free trial and cancel the day after the game. That way, you don’t have to continue paying for something you don’t want to have.
Streaming services are becoming part of college football more and more. There might be Ohio State games on Paramount+ at some point too since that is CBS’ streaming service. The only network you can count on not having to pay for Ohio State football games is FOX.
This should be the only game this season Ohio State will play on Peacock. It’s also a game the Buckeyes should win. Maryland isn’t going to be any good this season. It very well could be another Ohio State blowout against a team the Big Ten never should have taken in the first place.
